Cheapest Web Hosting Service for Start Up Web Developers and Webmasters

I am a first time web developer just like you. As a first timer, budget and costs are our primary concern. We want that every time we shed off money there is always something in return. We want profit right away, if not, at least, as soon as possible. When I started my web developing service, I looked through different hosting services available online like hostgator, godaddy, bluehost, namecheap and a few others and find out which of them could give me affordable hosting plan to host more than a single domain. So, first on my list was Hostgator.

Hostgator

Hostgator offers affordable hosting services with unlimited storage space, unlimited bandwidth, free website templates, 99.9% uptime guarantee, etc. It appears really cheap to me at first because of its $3.96 per month cost and 20% off summer sale promo. But when I placed the order, it showed that I can only get that cheap price when I subscribe to 3 years plan. So it’s a total of $142.56 upon check out. My money was really scarce at that time so I need to try another option. When I chose the 1 year plan, it showed over $5 a month, $5.56 to be exact. The total should be $66.72 upon check out. This is already a good option if you own only one website as this only hosts a single domain. Hostgator called this as “The Hatchling Plan.”

If you want to host more than a single domain, the Hatchling Plan is not a good option. Hostgator offers another plan that hosts unlimited domains, unlimited disk space, unlimited bandwidth and shared SSL Certificate called the “Baby Plan.” This cost higher than expected and this is a better option if you are starting a hosting business and web development service. This costs at around $6.36 a month and $228.96 upon check out for the 3 year plan. This is not a good option to me as I am searching for the most affordable hosting plan to host my two personal domains at that time. So, I moved forward and try Godaddy.

Godaddy

Godaddy has a .ph extension so, every time you open godaddy.com in the Philippines, you should see the .ph subdomain in the http address. What is convenient about this is that you don’t have to have a mental calculation of the dollar to peso conversion as the site already provides the Philippine price for the hosting service and domain registration for that matter.

Let's get back to business! Get online with 30%* off!Godaddy offers two hosting service options. The first one is the WordPress Site/Blog hosting option. In this plan, all you want to do is create your own wordpress site and they do the fully-managed hosting, setup and security of your WordPress site. This costs P45.99 a month or around $1.06 per month. This is a convenient choice because you will have the freedom to subscribe to the service for at least 3 months and 12 months, then switch to another hosting provider if you don’t like their service. The second option is their regular web hosting service. You need to choose between economy, deluxe and ultimate. The economy has the cheapest rate among the three. It costs around P159 a month, however, it only hosts a single website. Again, this is not the best option for me. Their deluxe plan costs P199.99 per month and it will host unlimited websites with unlimited storage and bandwidth. The 12 months subscription will cost P2,398.80. This is already a good option for start up webmasters who are planning to host multiple websites in the future. But Godaddy was not my best choice, so, I proceeded to Namecheap.

NameCheap

Namecheap was recommended by a friend so I went try Namecheap. Namecheap is known for its cheap and reliable domain registrar but some webmasters are skeptical to use Namecheap for their hosting. They rather go pick Hostgator, Bluehost or Godaddy because they’ve been around for quite sometime and are already established a name in the hosting world. And Namecheap is really for domain registration service only and buying a hosting account with them is the least option.

Namecheap offers three hosting plans namely shared hosting, reseller hosting and the VPS hosting. Within shared hosting plan, you can select one from the four shared hosting options. The first one is called Value shared hosting. This costs $3.98 a month or around P171.14 a month. It hosts up to 5 websites. It already has unlimited bandwidth and 25 GB            RAID protected sites, not bad for 5 websites. The second option is called Professional shared hosting. It costs $7.48 a month and you will have the freedom to subscribe to at least one month, then three months and six months. This will host up to 26 websites with unlimited bandwidth and 100 GB RAID protected sites. The third one is called Ultimate. You can also have the freedom to subscribe to at least one month, three months and six months. This hosts unlimited websites, unlimited bandwidth and unlimited GB RAID protected sites and costs $13.98 per month. The fourth and last one is called Business SSD. This hosting service is designed for busy, resource-heavy websites and e-commerce needing PCI-compliant hosting. This hosts unlimited websites, 20 GB SSD RAID protected sites and 5000 GB bandwidth.

Namecheap’s reseller hosting plan prices ranging from $16.95 to $46.95 and they are described as Reseller 1, 2, 3 and 4. This hosting option is best for people who want to start a reseller hosting account. Every account contains tools and features, unlimited cPanel accounts, merchant control panel plus billing software. All you need to start off a new hosting reseller business. And the last hosting account provided by Namecheap is called the VPS Hosting. This features fast, reliable and affordable Xen package for your virtual server. Their Virtual Private Server offers faster and guaranteed high performance servers than many dedicated servers available today. Price range is from $19.95 to $69.95.

So as a newbie to web hosting arena, I picked Namecheap value shared hosting plan which costs $3.98 a month or a total of Php 2053.68 for 12 months. This might not be the best option to you as this only hosts up to 5 websites. But Namecheap’s Live Chat Support really does a great job to a newbie like me. The technical support are available 24/7 to attend to your concerns anything related to web host, domains and private emails. I was really fascinated by how fast they would respond to my queries and their efficiency when they try to resolve my issues, they go to my CPanel and fix things up for me. Not only that I got my hosting package for less because I availed 20% off at that time so I only paid less for that matter.

I used Namecheap coupons upon check out to avail the promo. You can send me a message to avail their latest promos too. I can’t post it here because the promo varies from time to time. So, I will give it to you privately.

Now, I am happy with my hosting provider. I believe you should too when you find the right hosting provider for your sites. Until next time. Thank you for dropping by!
